These cabinets were refaced in Alder with a cherry stain and the countertops are Granite - Uba Tuba. | ||

The light well had the old style frame with plexi glass and fluorescent lights. | ||

| The drywall was completely smoothed finished and painted. 4) incandescent recessed lights were installed on a dimmer switch and the inside of the boxed light well was cased with a small crown molding and 3" casing finished to match the cabinets. Sometimes it seems better to work with what you have than to fill in the entire opening, in this kitchen the finished result ended up with a nicer dimensional effect than if it the opening was framed in and covered with drywall.
